In the scheme of UTokyo Strategic Partnership Project, YTU has been selected as one of our prospective strategic partner institutions. The School of Engineering, in collaboration with the Institute of Industrial Science, has strengthened a relationship by promoting student exchange, cooperative research, and faculty development in the past years, and those efforts have led to a conclusion of the MOU.

Since the recent political transformation and economic reforms, Myanmar has been experiencing an on-going series of rapid changes and development. In the country, there is a critical need to form a foundation of civil engineering that is inevitable for urban planning. In addition, nurturing skilled talents is also a challenge faced.

As a part of the UTokyo Strategic Partnership Project, the School of Engineering (Civil Engineering Dept. and Applied Chemistry Dept.), in collaboration with the Institute of Industrial Science, has established a platform of educational/research programs for science and technology infrastructure in the past years. This MOU expects to advance further academic interactions including student exchange and joint research, and develop sustainable relationships in broader fields.
