博士課程の韓国人留学生 李俊さん、人命救助で表彰 Mr. Lee Jun (doctor course student), commended for saving a life

本専攻博士課程在学中の韓国人留学生李俊さんが地下鉄根津駅での人命救助により東京メトロ、東京消防庁並びに本学総長、工学系研究科長より表彰を受けました。

李さんは、10月22日午後9時半ころ、男性が地下鉄千代田線根津駅のホーム中央付近で転落した男性を見つけ、とっさの判断で緊急停止ボタンを押し、ホーム下に飛び降り、男性を安全な場所へ避難させました。男性は足の付け根にけがをしたのみで命に別状はなかったそうです。後続の列車が来るまでわずか6分という間の救出劇でした。李さんは「東京大学で日本の交通システムを学んでいるので、ボタンの位置は覚えていた」と話しています。

Mr. Lee Jun, a doctor course student of this department, was commended for saving a life at a subway station by Tokyo Metro, Tokyo Fire Department and President of the University of Tokyo and Dean of School of Engineering.

On October 22, when he found a person falling down from the platform of Nezu Station, Mr. Lee pushed an emergency button, went down to the tracks and took him to the safe place, within 6 minutes before the next train came. The saved person was only a little wounded. He said, “I know where the button is, because I’m majoring in urban transportation.”
