「科学技術への顕著な貢献2013 (ナイスステップな研究者)」に沖教授 NISTEP Award for Prof. Taikan Oki

文部科学省 科学技術・学術政策研究所による「科学技術への顕著な貢献2013(ナイスステップな研究者)」 に沖 大幹教授が選定されました。これは科学技術・学術政策研究所が2005年より選定しているもので、2013年は、科学技術・学術政策研究所の調査研究活動や専門家ネットワーク（約 2,200人）への調査を通して明らかとなった研究者の業績について、特にその成果が顕著であり、科学技術の振興・普及に貢献している注目すべき9組10名を選定したということです。沖教授は「水文学の研究開発を通じた世界規模での社会への貢献と知識の普及」という功績が認められて今回の栄誉となりました。昨年出版した『水危機 ほんとうの話』(新潮選書)が2013年の水文・水資源学会学術出版賞を受賞した実績も「知識の普及」が評価された理由だと思われます。

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY POLICY (NISTEP) under Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, announced the NISTEP Award (The Researchers with Nice Step) 2013, and Prof. Taikan Oki was selected as one of 10 awardees who were recognized as having made significant contributions to Science and Technology. Prof. Oki was evaluated his “contribution to global society through research and development in hydrology and dissemination of the wisdom”. The quote “dissemination of wisdom” should include his publication of a popular book entitled with “Mizukiki Hontou no Hanashi (True Stories of Water Crisis)”(in Japanese, Shinchosha Publishing Co. Ltd., 2012), which got awarded the Academic Publication Prize in 2013 from Japan Society of Hydrology and Water Resources.
