関本教授と矢部貴大氏の論文「Cross-comparative analysis of evacuation behavior after earthquakes using mobile phone data」が、PLoS One内で引用数上位10%になりました。本論文は、過去日本で発生した4回震災における人の避難行動をターゲットし、100万人２ヶ月のGPSデータを相互比較分析することで、被災者の避難意思決定メカニズムを明らかにしました。

Prof. Sekimoto and Dr. Yabe’s research “Cross-comparative analysis of evacuation behavior after earthquakes using mobile phone data” has become the Top 10% Cited Papers of 2019.  By investigating the GPS trajectories of a total of more than 1 million anonymized mobile phone users for 2 months before and after four of the major earthquakes that occurred in Japan, the ross comparative analysis results show that in contrast to the assumed complexity of evacuation decision-making mechanisms in crisis situations, an individual’s evacuation probability is strongly dependent on the seismic intensity that they experience.
