南出将志助教 日本気象学会 山本賞受賞
南出将志助教が、令和2年度日本気象学会において、「基礎研究・応用技術開発を問わず優秀な論文を発表した新進の研究者・技術者に対する顕彰」である山本賞を受賞しました。南出助教が行っている「衛星全天候観測データを用いた台風のデータ同化に関する研究」が、気象災害の削減に向けて避けては通れない、台風などの気象予測・データ同化技術の発展・向上に資するものであると評価され、本賞の受賞となりました。
Assistant Prof. Masashi Minamide received the early career award (called Yamamoto Award) from the Meteorological Society of Japan. His research on “the predictability of tropical cyclones through all-sky satellite radiance assimilation” was honored with this award for his contribution to the field of numerical weather prediction and data assimilation with a set of outstanding papers.
