加藤専攻長がヤンゴン工科大学土木工学科長を表敬訪問／Prof. Kato Visited Dept. Civil Eng. of Yangon Technological Univ.

2018年２月20日、加藤浩徳社会基盤学専攻長、目黒公郎教授、川崎昭如特任教授が、ヤンゴン工科大学Nyan Myint Kyaw土木工学科長を表敬訪問しました。同日に締結した東京大学大学院工学系研究科－ヤンゴン工科大学との部局間学術交流協定を基に、今後の更なる学術交流に関する具体的な方策等について、活発な意見交換が行われました。

戦略的パートナーシップの枠組みの中で、大学院工学系研究科（社会基盤学専攻、応用化学専攻）および生産技術研究所が連携し、科学技術インフラの教育と技術移転に関する事業を推進しています。今後は、学生交流、共同研究の実施等、更なる連携と広範な分野での持続的かつ多様な交流を強化して行く予定です。

本訪問により、今後本学社会基盤学専攻とヤンゴン工科大学との間でより一層の学術交流および人的交流の活発化が期待されます。

On February 20, 2018, Head of Department of Civil Engineering of UTokyo, Prof. Kato, Prof. Meguro, Proj. Prof. Kawasaki made a courtesy call on Head of Department of Civil Engineering of Yangon Technological University (YTU), Prof. Nyan Myint Kyaw at YTU. Based on a Memorandum of Understanding between School of Engineering of UTokyo and YTU signed on the same day, both parties discussed possible future collaborations.

In the scheme of UTokyo Strategic Partnership Project, the School of Engineering (Civil Engineering Dept. and Applied Chemistry Dept.), in collaboration with Institute of Industrial Science, has established a platform of educational programs for science and technology infrastructure in the past years. This MOU aims to accelerate further academic interactions including student exchange and joint research as well as sustainable relationships in broader fields.

This visit is expected to promote the mobility of faculty and students, and expand opportunities of research collaborations between the University Departments.
