Asst. Prof. Tsukasa MIZUTANI in Bridge and Structure lab. was honored with “Paper Award for Young Scientists” from Japan Society of Hydrology and Water Resources(JSHWR) on September, 9, 2015. The awarded paper “Tsukasa MIZUTANI, Kenji INOMATA, Wataru TSUJITA, Riki HONDA, Yozo FUJINO and Tomonori NAGAYAMA: Real-Time Rainfall Detection by Analyzing Singularities of Communications Antenna Radiowave Fluctuations, Journal of Japan Society Hydrology and Water Resources, Vol. 27, No.5, pp.208-218, 2014.” proposes new technique for torrential rainfall detection based on interdisciplinary understanding and ideas on digital signal processing, hydrology, electromagnetism，and others. The originality and promising achievements were highly evaluated.
